Ahead of the Curve - May 2023 - CEO Council

Hello CEOs!

We are excited to announce a special presentation by Peter Hall🔯, CEO of econosphere inc., a boutique business strategy advisory firm. In this capacity he is involved in advising leading industry associations and corporations, advising and promoting international initiatives, and conducting ad hoc project work. He is a special advisor to both Martinrea International and Elevate Export Finance, is a Fellow-In-Residence at the C.D. Howe Institute, writes a regular column in the Financial Post, comments in various other media channels, and speaks at conferences and with senior executive teams in Canada and the United States.

Mr. Hall will be presenting on “The Unnecessarecession” at the June 21^st♛ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Council meeting.  Politics and the popular media seem irreversibly addicted to today's narco-narrative: gloom. And with good reason. Pessimism sells, spreads and sadly, is self-fulfilling. It is anchored in the economy’s post-2008 ineptitude. But 15 years on, is it really necessary? CEOs will hear an economic perspective that cuts through the chaos, presenting a lens through which our recent experience makes more sense, and opening up possibilities for near- and longer-term business strategies - and be ready for a lively Q&A session to follow.

The CEO Council provides supplier leaders the opportunity to hear from leading industry executives on a wide variety of relevant topics.  Recent discussion topics include activity in Washington, D.C., an update from the Federal Reserve, supplier approaches with the ICE to EV transition, and a conversation on the semiconductor industry with members of that industry. The Council also regularly discusses the impact on suppliers of the labor shortages and the drive toward ESG and sustainability.
